Cottage Copy

Holly was already a patron of my art before she asked me to work on her site. She's not only bought an original print, but she got herself made into a cartoon.

On the basis of that work together, she decided that Cottage Copy's new look would have to be something really artistic, and that it had to feature the Cottage Copy Spaniel. We decided to go against the grain of super-glossy and slick, and instead I hand-painted her banner with watercolors.

I then made elements scanned from the same thick, creamy paper for her content boxes, and painted a flowy water background for it all to float on top of. A text logo and a few painted elements like her Twitter bird completed the look and feel of a handmade work of art, and then her web developer took over and made my design into a reality.
